Greetings, Members!
Here’s What’s New
A new industry comes to town!
We are pleased to announce our newest industry to Wilton--Century Fence has purchased our last 10 acres in Wilton Development’s Industrial Park. They are a leader in commercial fencing and pavement marking and have a strong Midwest presence. Century Fence are projecting to build a 10,000 square foot building and will fabricate fencing as well as have a distribution center. Welcome to Wilton!!! We are honored that you picked us for your newest location!
New Clock
Wilton Chamber & Development Alliance and the City of Wilton teamed up to purchase and install a new clock at the corner of Fourth and Maurer Streets. This was made possible by the generosity of a bequest from Helen Nicolaus. Shown below are city employees installing the beautiful new clock.
Annual Member Luncheon
The Wilton Chamber & Development Alliance annual member luncheon is coming up right after the holidays. Mark your calendars for Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at noon at the Community Center. We are thrilled that Century Fence representatives will be joining us, so we will get to meet our new partners!
2024 Membership
Dues/Sponsorship donation: We have been receiving a steady stream of membership dues donations and sponsorship contributions. Many thanks to you all--Wilton is able to have the wonderful community events we do because of our members. To those who haven’t yet, please send in your 2024 dues donation, and we hope you will also be a sponsor, too!
As this wonderful year draws to a close, we look back on all the events of 2023 and feel so thankful to all our members, sponsors, and volunteers. It truly takes a village.
Celebrating Thanksgiving and Christmas
Small Business Saturday
Saturday, November 25, was Small Business Saturday and we had eight businesses participating in the drawing. Winners of $20 Chamber Bucks were Angie Stranberg at Niche Etc., Russ Huesmann at the Candy Kitchen, and Lauren Howell at Blooming Ideas. Congratulations!
Window Walk:
The Christmas Express was a big hit! We had wonderful weather and parents and children loved the train (below, showing the colorful tree and the depot).
Santa and Mrs. Claus handed out 190 fruit snacks, and all 100 children’s books were given out at the end of the library’s scavenger hunt.
The Wilton High School Alumni Association’s play, “Christmas Choir,” raised $700 total and split the proceeds between the Wilton-Durant Ministerial Association and the Wilton High School choir, as well as providing lots of laughs and Christmas joy. Patty Norman, WHS choir director, and Patrick Slessor, pastor at United Church of Christ, are shown below, left and right, accepting their donations.
Many thanks to everyone who made Window Walk 2023 amazing! Shout-out to the Jolly Couple, Tom and Laurie Maurer, and to our high school volunteer, Logan Schneekloth (seen below in our photo-op cutout designed and built by Robert Arlen).
