Greetings, Members!
Happy Summer! It is going to be amazing!
Founders Day 2024
This year’s Wilton Founders Day Backyard Bash is shaping up to be something special! See you downtown August 16-18.
The Fun Zone ($25 Wristband, good for both days) will feature Little Bouncers, Classic Bouncers, Obstacle Bouncers, a Huge Slide, Big Baller Wipeout and 24’ Rock Climbing Wall. There are new events for kids planned plus the classic Big Wheel Races & BINGO. Also new this year is the Founders Day Market in Elder Park, which will feature a variety of local arts, craft, food, and antique vendors. In the main shelter there will also be face-painting, balloon sculpting and other local art.
The Eager Beaver Run will kick off the activities on Saturday morning, followed by 3-on-3 Basketball and Bags downtown and Sand Volleyball at City Park. The Founders Day Parade will be at 11:30 am. Start thinking of your Backyard Bash themed float... it can be your favorite backyard memory, activity, toy.... have fun! Be creative!
After the parade there will be a tractor show again this year in the grass area east of the Freedom Rock, behind Food Truck row—which will be on Railroad St. behind City Hall and will give Founders Day-goers a great variety of the best local food to choose from while enjoying all the entertainment in the Hy-Line North America Stage and Beverage Area.
The Hy-Line North America Stage will feature three bands. We’ll be kicking off Friday night right with the classic rock sounds of Gray Wolf Band at 8 pm-12. Saturday evening, after the parade and a full day of events, we welcome the band Unresolved to give us some amazing covers with their own touch of funk, jazz and blues at 5 pm. Then we finish Founders Day with the fun, high-energy rock band Fair Warning at 8-12.
We need volunteers! Please call the Wilton Chamber at (563) 732-5002 or e-mail Robert Arlen at rarlen@wiltoniowa.org.
