Career Expo
Together with Eastern Iowa Community Colleges, WCDA and the Durant Chamber of Commerce hosted a Career Expo at the Durant Community Center on February 25. Around 35 businesses provided information and hands-on career learning opportunities to approximately 375 Wilton and Durant high-schoolers.

Legislative Forum
There was a Legislative Forum March 1 at City Hall with State Senator Mark Lofgren and State Representative Bobby Kaufmann.
Iowa Workforce Development
Iowa Workforce Development invites community leaders to be a part of their rapid response to a layoff/closure announced by Ascent Professional Staffing which is expected to impact 32 workers in the greater Muscatine community. United Way Muscatine County
Registration for Wilton Citywide Day of Caring is now officially open! Day of Caring will take place on Wednesday, May 7th, 8:30 AM-Noon. Interested agencies may submit any number of projects, large or small, through our online volunteer website for “2025 Wilton Day of Caring” (https://shorturl.at/1MtiN) with a March 28 deadline. Examples of Day of Caring projects include reading to kids, yard work, landscaping, harvesting gardens, painting, inventorying/organizing storage spaces, building accessibility ramps, walking and feeding animals/cleaning cages, and much more. Voluntary Income Tax Assistance (VITA) hosted by United Way at MCC provides free tax preparation services for households earning $67K/year or less. Registration is required. Call Mason at 563-223-8497 or Mason@unitedwaymuscatine.org. Sessions are at MCC on March 7, 9am-2pm, and April 4, 3-7pm.
