A Busy October
Century Fence Groundbreaking The newest business in Wilton’s Industrial Park, a branch of Wisconsin-based company Century Fence, was celebrated Wednesday, Oct. 23, with a groundbreaking at the work site and a luncheon reception at the Wilton Community Center. At the reception, WCDA Director Becky Allgood, Branch Manager Jason Calvert, and CEO Matthew Powell each addressed the group. Powell said he has worked with many communities, and “the City of Wilton has been such a pleasure to work with.” Becky made it clear how thrilled Wilton is to welcome this new industry, and she highlighted WCDA’s collaboration with the Quad Cities Chamber of Commerce in bringing Century Fence to Wilton.
Trunk or Treat: The Trunk or Treat Halloween Party on October 31 was a windy, spooky success, thanks to all the WCDA members, police and fire departments, and community members who handed out candy and free hot dogs to the kids and volunteered their time and effort. Special thanks to Young Life for their amazing Haunted House!
