WCDA is partnering with EICC and the Durant Chamber of Commerce to host a Career Expo at the Durant Community Center on Feb. 25, 2025. Several Wilton businesses are participating and will be providing hands-on activities to Wilton and Durant students in grades 8-12.

Annual Member Luncheon
We celebrated the progress and successes our community and businesses in 2024 with our Annual Member Luncheon on January 15. WCDA honored JM Eagle, which built a multi-million-dollar addition in 2024, as outstanding business of the 2024; and also paid tribute to Sergeant Todd Johnson for his outstanding commitment and service to the community as our School Resource Officer.

United Way Muscatine County
”United Is the Way Award” nominations are officially open! Winners will be announced and awards presented by Ashley Loveless at the third annual United Is the Way Celebration Luncheon on April 9, 2025, at the Merrill Hotel Ballroom. United Way will recognize individuals and organizations who are making an impact through volunteerism and charitable giving in Muscatine County. To nominate a business or organization, fill out Live United Award Form or to nominate an individual, fill out Live United Award Nomination Form. The deadline for nominations is February 28.
The Kids First Pancake Breakfast will be held January 31, 2025, 7-9 am at the MidwestOne Bank Walnut Room at 300 East 2nd Street, Muscatine; or pre-order to pick up by calling 563-263-5963. The Kids First Fund is designed to eliminate barriers to education and participation in extracurricular activities and provided support to 2,168 Muscatine County kids in 2024.
United Way needs volunteers for the Voluntary Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, which provides free tax aid to those who make $67K or less. The sessions will be held at MCC on Feb. 7, 9am-2pm; March 7, 9am-2pm; and April 4, 3-7pm. There is free online certification through the IRS.
